Our outdoor sessions have finished for the season. Please stay tuned for the 2018 summer schedule and pricing.
Vancouver Kayak Polo is organized through the Burnaby Canoe and Kayak Club. We practice at Burnaby Lake, just in front of the Rowing Pavilion dock. Please ensure that you arrive on time and help with setup, so that we can maximize our on-water time.
The annual kayak polo membership fee covers all outdoor sessions for the season, insurance, and includes rental equipment.
You must register online prior to playing. We do not accept cash on site.
If you are unsure if kayak polo is for you, we have a drop in available. The drop in can only be used once per person, after which, you need to purchase a full membership. The drop in fee cost will be subtracted from the final membership fee.
We have a fleet of 12 polo boats available on a first come, first serve basis. Equipment rentals also include a paddle, PDF (Personal flotation device), spray skirt, and a helmet with a face shield.
If you have your own equipment, please bring it as it frees up the club gear for new paddlers. All boats need to have sufficient foam padding on either end, and any non polo-specific paddles need to have their edges taped. Personal flotation devices and helmets with a face shield must be worn at all times on the water.
Rental equipment rules
• Please respect the equipment. It isn’t cheap to repair/replace.
• Do not drag boats, please pick them up.
• No ‘seal launching’ into the water with composite boats. Place the boat on the water, and then climb in from the dock.
• If something is damaged and in need of repair, please let us know.
